Legal notice & Terms

SHARELUGG is currently in a testing phase. This document will be finalised with a legal professional before the large-scale public launch. Translations of this document are provided for information only: in the event of any discrepancy in interpretation, the French version prevails.

1. Site publisher

SHARELUGG — [Legal structure to be defined]. Address and registration number to be completed before public launch.

2. Platform's role

SHARELUGG is a technical intermediary connecting travelers and senders. SHARELUGG is not a carrier in the legal sense and is not liable for the content, legality, or condition of transported packages. Liability for content lies solely with the sender.

3. Prohibited items

Weapons, drugs, cash, items illegal in the destination country, undeclared perishable goods. See the full list in the FAQ. Any breach is the sender's sole responsibility.

4. Payment and commission

Payments are held in escrow until delivery is confirmed. SHARELUGG takes a 12% commission on the initial amount of each booking, whether or not delivery occurs.

5. Privacy policy

Identity data (KYC) is collected solely for verification and security purposes, and is not shared with third parties without consent, except as legally required. [Section to be detailed with a lawyer before launch.]

6. Disputes

In the event of a dispute between a traveler and a sender, SHARELUGG offers mediation through its help center. Customer support remains reachable by email.

7. Account suspension

A traveler whose package is not delivered (confirmed failure after acceptance) on two occasions, across two different trips, has their account permanently suspended. Both incidents are counted regardless of date or amount.

8. Personal data and GDPR

Personal data collected (identity, contact details, KYC documents) is processed by SHARELUGG as data controller, in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This data is used exclusively for identity verification, platform security, and the management of bookings and payments, and is shared with third parties (Stripe for payments, technical providers) only to the extent strictly necessary to deliver the service. Under the GDPR, every user has the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction and portability of their data, as well as a right to object. The right to erasure can be exercised directly from the "Delete my account" section of the personal area: name, email address, profile picture and identity document are then permanently erased and access to the account is disabled. Data strictly necessary to comply with accounting and tax obligations (booking and payment history) is kept in anonymised form for the applicable legal retention period, with no possibility of linking it to an identified person. Deletion cannot be carried out while a booking or a trip is in progress, in order to guarantee the proper completion of transactions and the handling of any disputes. Other rights are exercised via the Help/Contact page. [Section to be finalised with a data protection officer before large-scale launch.]

9. Cookies

The site uses technical cookies required for it to work (authentication, language preference) and, where applicable, audience measurement cookies. No third-party advertising cookie is used to date. Users can manage their preferences via the consent banner shown on their first visit.

10. Disputes and mediation

In the event of a dispute between a traveller and a sender, SHARELUGG offers mediation through its help centre. Customer support remains reachable by email.

11. Applicable law and jurisdiction

The law applicable to these terms will be determined once SHARELUGG's legal structure is officially registered (the country of incorporation has not been decided at this stage). Failing an amicable settlement, any dispute relating to the use of the platform will be submitted to the competent courts, subject to the mandatory provisions applicable to consumers in their country of residence.

12. Force majeure

SHARELUGG cannot be held liable for any delay or non-performance resulting from an event of force majeure, including: strike, natural disaster, failure of a third-party provider (Stripe, hosting), or any circumstance beyond its reasonable control.

13. Account suspension

A traveller who fails to deliver a parcel (confirmed failure after acceptance) twice, on two different trips, has their account permanently suspended. Both incidents are counted regardless of their date or amount.
